Upon returning to Ann Arbor for the start of the winter term, I decided to start a nice easy run for the new year. Departing from Couzens Hall, I headed east towards the hospitalopolis, which is somehow packed in between the Hill Area of campus, Nichols Arboretum, Fuller Road, and the border of downtown Ann Arbor.
Six minutes into the run I was at the entrance to the Arboretum (from Nichols Drive). I immediately noticed the abundance of snow weighing down the many trees of the arboretum. Most of the snow was nicely packed, keeping my feet dry.
I turned right at one of the many hills and began the small challenge of running a kilometer uphill and in the snow (like old folks walking to school). Reaching the summit, I looked back on the condensed Arbour that is Ann's. I departed from the arboretum, heading west on the beautiful Geddes Road. Hanging a right on Washtenaw Ave brought me back to the safe, warm, cozy, home of my Couzens.
